WizardsSword-and-sorcery animation, neatly done but reliant on the same bunch of dog-eared cliches - good brothers versus bad brothers, faery armies clashing on darkling plains - which make this genre so tedious for anyone who doesn't think dressing up as an elf at weekends or naming your children after Tolkien characters is a really cool idea. There is one original element, however - the bad guys are inspired by Nazi propaganda films dug from the bowels of post-apocalyptic Earth, and the way Bakshi weaves this material in with the rest of the film provides a modicum of interest. Not enough to justify sitting through the rest, though.
