Wing CommanderSuper Mario Brothers, Streetfighter - you'd think people would learn the lesson, wouldn't you? Nope - director Roberts's attempt to make a coherent movie out of a video game is no more successful than any previous effort. Some unimpressive aliens want to take over the Earth, some unimpressive actors bat them off with speedy little spaceships. British character players in minor roles get to pay off their mortgages, and even Mark Hamil (one of the principal voice artists of the video game) is allowed to have a bit part. British viewers may be amused that the name of the trigger-happy hero is Blair. |
