Wild Orchid
Another sordid melodrama from soft-core film-maker Zalman King, in which a respectable cast does its utmost to keep straight-faced throughout the clichéd goings-on. Nina Siemaszko is the young girl who is lured into working for brothel madam Wendy Hughes, while mourning her jazz drifter dad (Tom Skerritt). As usual with King productions, this looks terrific, but the plotting and dialogue are risible. Still, it's marginally better than the largely unconnected original, "Wild Orchid", if only for the absence of Mickey Rourke.
