This was a weird, dark film. I thought it would be a Superhero type movie, but the end result wasn't really about a superhero. It was like a man in a Fathers for Justice type costume fighting against a Nazi State Britian. Its very long winded and most of it doesn't make sense. I gave it 2 stars for the little bit of action that it does have and for the funny 'Blackadder' voice that 'V' the guy in the costume has.

Seriously, looking and reading all these comments here really made my expectations so high but I almost got confused at the middle of this movie. It was going great untill they started showing history and what not.. and what really $ucks is that the main character dies!! I mean does a hero from DC comics get finished?
This movie wasnt a big hit for me. It is worth watching. There are many awesome scenes.

on the surface this film is a political one, but really its much deeper than that, the context is political but for me its much more about the nature and importants of self 'to thine own self be true' and about fighting for your rights as an individual and as a society. its both powerfull and entertaining and very stylish. i havent read the graphic novel but as a film i would highly recomend this to be watched. the script is of an exceptionally high standard thats hard to beat and the acting is superb (with the only eception of the tv studio security gaurd who was awful but only had like 30 seconds of screen time so doesnt have time to ruin anything lol. this film has all the elements of a great film. its thought provoking but has enough bang for the 'im just bored' viewer to still enjoy it. [SPOILER]
the scene with the 'last inch of me' letters is extreemly emotional and memorable
there is a lot of back story in this film but its put together with skill and so the movie plot moves forward like a rollercoaster and twice as fun. my rating=3/3 for performance.. 3/3 for story/plot dev.. 3/3 for entertainment/artistic merit.. and 0.5/1 for spark of genius.. overal rating 9.5/10 and added to my playlist
Great 2006 Portman Film. America has been pushing fear for 60 years now from the Red Scare to Al-Afraida and we've hired the inept and given up rights that men before us died for, in order to agree with current authority. Leaders veil their cowardice behind calls for Patriotism and those with mortaged desires obey and repeat. Beck, Limbaugh, Deucey, Olberman, Hannity, Blitzer..all mis-informing, all confusing, all trivializing to keep their jobs at the expense of our Unions well being. PBS news!
Still impressed about the film. I'm soo eager to watch more work of the Wakowski brothers. I really never ever thought that, Hollywood could make such an intelligent and exciting film. After I saw "V for Vendetta" I took my chance to buy the special version on DVD. (Which also included moviesposters **smirk**). It did sucked big time, when V had to die.

Content -Excellent! Futuristic, totalitarianism reminiscent of Atwood's the Handmaid's Tale, as well at actual history, really give the mind a good poke in the WAKE UP! zone.
One thing that makes this movie great is its unique story line so it stands out among other movies. I have watched this movie many times already and I still never get tired of it. This movie doesn't have a ton of action compared to other movies in these same genres, but that makes it special because it doesn't need a lot of action to keep your attention. I think that V is one of the coolest movie characters ever so that's part of why I like it so much.
