United 93 is not an easy flight to board. This staggering, draining film is exceptionally accomplished but extremely difficult to watch. It turns out to be easier to admire from whatever distance you can manage than to embrace with any kind of emotional intimacy. This may have been filmmaker Paul Greengrass' intention, but only up to a point.

United 93, a Boeing 757 headed from Newark, N.J., to San Francisco, was the last of four planes hijacked by Islamic terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001. It was also the only one that didn't hit its target, likely the U.S. Capitol building. The flight's 40 passengers and crew, aware of the fate of the three other planes, foug...

United 93 is an absolutely brilliant film but I'll almost certainly never watch it again.

I can picture the HOLLYWOOD version of this story: Todd Beamer is played by Tom Cruise or someone like that. 'Let's Roll' is the poster's tagline (the poster, by the way, is a big plane only rather than black the sillhouette is red white and blue) and the last 15 minutes is an action film in which Beamer grabs the controls but cant pull out of the dive in time.

This is NOT Paul Greengrass' film.

United 93 is a deeply serious, utterly real reconstruction in almost real time of not just the events on flight 93 but those surrounding it in the various control roo...

Horrific
I watched this film the entire time feeling as though I wanted to be sick; of all the things I have ever seen this film is the most horrific.

The film displays with such startling clarity the movements of that fateful day and puts you clearly into the position of those passengers who knew that they were about to die.

Those who showed extraordinary courage in attempting to prevent yet another catastrophic attack. It leaves you feeling chilled to the core and unable to think of anything else.

as someone else said//what happened to the remains of the aircraft? All that marked the spot was a giant pit..every aircraft crash site always has assorted rubble ie seats, tail sections, engines etc..where was all this?

This is hands down the best movie of 2006. I cried. I was only 6 years old when it happened, I was at my grandmother's house flipping the channels and one of them was CMT and I didn't know what was going on. Because, when your that age you don't understand what is going on. Especially when such a tragedy like this happens. I am 13 now. And My heart goes out to all the families who lost their loved ones on such a tragic day. This is a must see.

United Airline Flight 93 had some of the most courageous individuals in the world aboard its flight. May they all rest in peace. My heart goes out to their families, to all those who helped them through the last minutes of their lives and to all the others who lost their lives on one of the saddest days in America's history. All those involved in the monstrous events that happened on 9/11, may they be damned to hell for all eternity.
