Dark and unusual
This is a low-budget New Zealand chiller that works well for most of it's length when taken as a psychological drama, with the killer far more sympathetic than anyone else.
There's lots of unusual touches, such as black blood in the killings rather than red, however despite some very intelligent frissons it still comes across as pretty cheap. The denoument is a big let down and effectively negates the good work before. |
