Much better than expected
It's rare to watch an American film about a group of twenty-somethings getting into all kinds of grisly happenings without wanting to shout at the screen in the face of their stupid decisions that make you think they probably deserve something horrible to happen.

Turistas doesn't have this. It's a well put together if, ultimately, predictable thriller with the requisite levels of suspense and a glimpse into the darker realms of human nature and survival. Worth a watch.

Renamed although no need to be Reborn!
Having seen the film originally marketed as Turistas, I couldn't understand why it needed to be renamed until I was told that it was owing to the flop in the US Box Office.

Having seen it, I have to say, I have no idea why it would have flopped at all. There a far worse Horrors that have got far better reviews and I genuinely thought that this one was a cut above the rest.

As opposed to many generic horrors that are put out, this one at least tries to explain why the violence is needed and that does make a refreshing change.

There are also some genuinely tense and terrifying moments that don't just play on the gore factor but also on basic human fears.

Yanks vacationing way South-of-the-border face a fate far worse than stomach cramps and diarrhea in Turistas. Indie pickup is first release for youth-slanted genre shingle Fox Atomic, and, with an advertising budget reportedly three times the pic's $10 million production cost, this Hostel-with-a-tan-line is sure to soak up some counter-programming cash in a seasonal marketplace currently short on horror fare. The unsavory effort will doubtless be Christmas trash soon enough, but ancillary life should raise its cast casualties from the dead for further monetary gain by Easter.

I really like the idea of this movie, but the problem is it is very slow and boring. There are few good death scenes. I guess it's ok for a watch, but you may fall asleep.

I would say a movie to watch on a rainy day, but also not the best movie u actually CAN watch so..

The actors were nicely piked, the idea that they had was good. So I give 7/10..
