The Wild AngelsCorman's lurid elaboration upon the themes of The Wild One has a cast that proves the director had a sure eye for talent. Fonda is the leader of the pack, Sinatra his biker-chick sidekick. 'Wanting to do what we want to do' is their motto, a subtle adaptation of 'What are you rebelling against? - What have you got?' from the Brando picture. This is Corman working in that deliciously disingenuous genre, the exploitation flick dressed up as social comment - he even puts a stentorian warning at the top of the movie, explaining it as an exercise in sociological investigation. The sleazy con trick is a wow.
