The Lawnmower ManAuthor Stephen King had his name removed from the credits of this science-fiction thriller since it bears absolutely no resemblance to his short story. Fahey plays a dimwitted gardener who becomes a human guinea pig in Brosnan's experiments into virtual reality. Having had his intellect vastly enhanced by the experience, Fahey begins to develop delusions of grandeur and attempts to - what else? - take over the world. Despite some very flashy computer-generated-effects sequences, the film remains thoroughly rooted in its B-movie antecedents. If only director Leonard had injected a little more urgency into the scenario, it might have become some sort of cult favourite.
