The Brothers Bloom is a confidence trick caper from Rian Johnson, and his follow-up to his acclaimed teen-noir debut Brick. It's more Wes Anderson flick than 'Hustle' though, and while the press notes accompanying the film invite us to compare The Brothers Bloom with the work of Hitchcock, in truth a closer spiritual cousin would be the oeuvre of Jean Pierre Jeunet, with its quality cast, polite wackiness, mannered quirks and array of beautifully photographed European locations.
