The Bride Came C.O.D.It's easy to see why Davis and Cagney disliked this frantic screwball comedy, old-fashioned even for its time (1941) - it boasts few moments of decent comedy and even less chemistry between the leads, no matter how hard they try. Davis is the heiress whose father doesn't approve of the man she wants to marry; when she decides to elope, her dad thwarts her scheme by hiring pilot Cagney to kidnap her and bring her back home. There's no surprises for guessing how it all turns out, but the surrounding film is so hopelessly contrived that you'll be hard-pressed to care.
