This was a good story but it is very drawn out. Not a lot happens especially in the first half of the movie. If you're looking for something exciting this isn't it. Overall it's a good story with good meaning behind it. I just wish that there had been more dialog between characters instead of just a lot of walking through wastelands. Yawn. I'll give this one a 3/5 just for the meaningful story.

I was so worried this was going to be another Long Road, but thankfully this movie had characters, dialog and a story. For the most part, it was a more realistic approach to a post-disaster world. Like a desperate Old West, which added a cool style to it. Some people prey on each other, but most gather together and cooperate while others try to survive on their own.

Now, I'm no fan of religion, in fact I must admit I hold a bit of a grudge, but the religious theme of the movie didn't bother me at all. What I care about most is the preservation of knowledge, all knowledge, even the ideas I don't agree with, and so on that point this was a powerful subject for me.

The best part of all was the duality of Christianity they used so well. [spoiler] The lone man who wanders through the desert for thirty years (only ten more and he would have been Moses! But didn't Jesus walk through a desert for years, and had a conversation with the Devil out there in which Lucifer tried to tempt him? Something like that.) with just enough material possessions to survive, well, and an iPod, trying to bring his religion to people who need it. The poor and selfless prophet.

I loved Gary Oldman's side, though. "The book is a weapon aimed at the hearts and minds of the poor and the desperate." That line was so good, it gave me chills. His plan to control people with hope was perfect, and so accurate to so many of the selfish abuses of power in the history of religion.

I must say though, having both your hero and villain slowly die of infection from wounds they received half way through the movie was a little anti-climactic. Realistic, but not the most entertaining or powerful way to go.

Then the world. As far as I can tell, they said they had somehow destroyed the ozone layer. Like, all at once, with a bomb or something. I don't see how that's possible, but okay. Still, that won't lead to a lack of

i thought this was a wonderful movie and i would definitely watch it again..people often lose sight of the task at hand and think that religion simply rules the whole movie. if you pay attention to the film, it's not really about religion but faith. you can have faith in anything, not just God. 5/5

resolute, determined and undeterred from the task at hand.. I liked that! Although i'm not his biggest fan Denzel is such a good actor, he did well here.

This movie is unusual however very watchable! 3.5/5

I disagree with (Vitakinesis) This movie doesnвЂ™t have an average storyline. I know IвЂ™m a writer (Not saying IвЂ™m an editor thank god). Where as most post apocalyptic stories drag out meaningless information; this plot doesnвЂ™t take place thousands of years after the incident occurred it only takes place years after everything occurred. The acting wasnвЂ™t supposed to be вЂ?out of this worldвЂ™ you were supposed to focus on (who is this guy? why is he doing what heвЂ™s doing? and where is it all going to end up?) The storyline was great in my opinion. If you go behind the scenes to actually watch how they shot this movie youвЂ™ll appreciate it that much more.

Give this movie a shot, ignore the negative reviews.
