As a title Terminator Salvation sounds a bit extravagant, until you realise it's basically a mission statement from the guys who own the franchise rights. Rebooting the saga by dropkicking it squarely back to the future, the apocalyptic post-Judgment Day world only teasingly glimpsed before, they're hoping for a new lease of life. What's left of the human race continues to rage against the machines in Terminator Salvation (* * out of four).

But without Arnold front and center, the heavy-metal fracas is just not much fun. Christian Bale stars in this lackluster fourth installment in the Terminator series, but his Batman-Terminator crossover doesn't work. Things do explode well, and loudly. The machines are bigger, shinier and meaner than ever, and the world they inhabit is even more grim and bleak. But the dramatic elements flat-line; any kind of humanity is in short supply.

Bale is surprisingly one-dimensional as John Connor, the leader of the human Resistance movement...

Sub TV Pilot Dross
This film certainly follows in the steps of the previous movies, but unfortunately the 3rd fiasco and not Camerons classics. Simply put, McG is just not up to the task and instead of innovation or originality we get entire scenes from the previous movies 'Re-imagined', which can be good if done in a subtle way, unlike the way its done here, 'LOOK AT THE NODS!, LOOK AT THE HOMAGES!,......I'M F*****G McG!' The plot is so contrived and predictable, with a main character who wakes up in the future,'What year is it? Where am I? Who's the President?...AARRGGHH!!!' This is nothing more than a cash in to spawn sequels, and I for one won't be touching this franchi...

realizing that Terminator 3 was barely over an hour long, terminator 2 was almost 3 hours and the original was 2, this makes up for T3 being so short, read my rating comment further down, The Terminator boring by todays standards? you must be a teen, I was 10 when T1 came out and it scared the @%&! out of me, it's a cult classic and will always be the best of the series, go review Twitlight or something your reviews of sci-fi films are obscure at best.

Saw this last year in the cinema and it's the biggest pile of bunk, all style no substance, like watching one of hugh hefners play mates. Easy on the eye but what a load of rubbish! There couldn't have been a weaker story if they'd got President Bush to write it on the back of a beer matt. Disgrace to the terminator franchise.

Loved it! The acting is 2nd to non, the action is great, special effects.. really cool and the story is sound. I think it's the best Terminator movie yet because of the points i've just mentioned. 2 main characters, fantastic
