I'm not American and I'm not in any branch of the military of my country, but my father was, and both my grandfathers which has an impact on how I view some of the comments below. The background to the wars currently being fought around the world should not be in question when honouring someone who has died fighting under orders. The question of whether the second Iraq war justified was not the point of this movie, the impact the death of someone who was fighting in that war can have on family, friends, and total strangers is. It was a well acted, poignant drama based on real life events.

well for me i didn't liked this movie at all.. its piece of -----.. besides this respect thing we find it all over the world.. i don't think this movie deserves such a good ratings.. i had thought this movie would have something mesmerizing or something exceptional as the rating showed but .. it was a big let down.. sorry to all feeling bad but i m totally unbiased.. everyone else can find it good but for me this movie was bad..

This movie was great. I have never really been a fan for Kevin Bacon but he did a really good job in this movie. For those of you who say this movie is a "piece of --" I feel sorry for you. This is an amazing movie and it shows the dedication the American people have for their troops. No matter the reason for war, I will always have respect for the men and women that fight. Thank all of you, you are all in my prayers.

A truly beautiful and touching and heartfelt movie. I am in tears writing this..the thought of losing a son is unbearable. What a beautiful service too. I must say the Americans really do honour and pay tribute to their troops..I wish we did the same. What a fantastic job all the troops do in such a relentless war.

Kevin Bacon was amazing..he is such a talented actor

It made me mad when I read some of the comments. As a former Marine AND also an Army paratrooper who served in combat, the bulk of all the so-called propaganda comes from those at home who don't have a clue as to what is going on in the world. Military life is NOT for everyone but those that DO make it have a mission which is to 'guard our country and our way of life'. This was a GREAT film so for those that had something negative to say, we Vets say this..Put Up or Shut Up. Nuff said. 9/20 --Semper Fi (USMC)..All the Way and Then Some (Army-82d Abn Div)

News flash, sweetheart - Women aren't allowed to be in active combat as a paratrooper, let alone with any other MOS in the entire U.S. military. So if you're going to attempt at being fake, the LEAST you could do is do a little bit of research before you begin to speak about things that you are misinformed about. I don't know how you live with yourself, pretending to be in the United States Military. Get a hobby....and a better fake profile picture.
