SupergirlThrough its tedious credits and the risible opening sequence, with acting and dialogue unworthy of Crossroads, this ill-conceived farrago attempts parody but gradually sinks taking all on board with it. It has a painfully constricted air, with innumerable near-static midshots with no air around them. The result, apart from naff special effects, is one of the dullest films ever made. The cast battles against poor production values and lumpen direction, but even the valiant Dunaway and Vaccaro are defeated, whilst Cook simply looks lost. As the eponymous heroine, Slater fills her red-and-white costume adequately. |
