Seth, Evan and Fogell are three teenage guys who love to drink and desperately wish to get laid. When a girl that Seth really likes, asks him to get the drink for her party, he sees this as a perfect opportunity to make her his girlfriend. The trio plan out how to get the alcohol, even including Fogell's new fake ID, but things won't got smoothly for the trio. Seth and Evan become separated from Fogell (now called McLovin) and they still haven't got the alcohol for the party that night.
Since the dawn of youth culture, when it was first determined that adolescents were not to be trusted to play themselves, teens on screens have been glamorized or caricaturized, stripped of complexity and much of their clothes and prevailed upon to do things like violate baked goods in order to best advertise their sex-crazed adolescent bona fides to the world.
As amusing as this kind of thing can be, it can also be alienating to the currently and formerly young. It was, in fact, the overwhelming bogusness that inspired Seth Rogen to write a comedy with his childhood friend Evan Goldberg, something that would reflect the experiences of real kids like t...
Funny
For the first fifteen minutes you will wonder if this just a purile attempt to invent as many new swear words as possible while discussing girls, porn and sexual frustration. Stick it out, the film gets funnier and funnier as story unfolds. It isn't some dumb gross out movie, but if you are easily offended by sexual language, this won't be the film for you. Describing the plot wouldn't do the film justice, just sit back, watch it, and be prepared to not stop laughing. Every character is allowed to develop rather than relying on 2 dimensional characture, and the story flows smoothly, allowing you to believe this could have been a real night out rather than a cobbled together plo...
This is the summer of Judd Apatow. First the very funny Knocked Up, which he directed, and now its hilarious younger brother, Superbad.
Though Apatow is the producer on Superbad (as he was on Anchorman and Talladega Nights) and not the director, this ribald coming-of-age comedy with an underlying core of sweetness bears his unmistakable stamp. Greg Mottola (TV's Undeclared) is at the directing helm. Over a decade ago, Mottola wrote and nimbly directed the low-budget, little-seen and very witty The Daytrippers (starring Hope Davis, Stanley Tucci and Campbell Scott). Superbad follows a similar, if rowdier, style: Everything that can go wrong over a period o...

I hadn't watched this in a long time but it was on Encore the other night. So as always there was nothing else on T.V. And I forgot how much I liked it. I mean there is alot graphic language espiecally within the first 10-20 minutes. But at the end, it is just so heartwarming. And for anyone who hasn't seen this movie your thinking Mr. this has graphic language and graphic sexual content and some nudity and graphic alcohol and drug use all involving teenagers. Yes, stranger it does but. At the end it is so warm and heartfelt. I mean yes these best friends have their fights which friends do. But these guys are best friends just inseperable and it is just a funny caring movie. The only problem was Seth's drawings. I won't say what they are, but if you've seen the movie, you know. I just thought that was outrageous and COMPLETELY unnecessary. But anyway, awesome movie.
This is a great movie, not for younger kids as the language is very graphic in parts. Still very funny and according to my 19 year old very close to the truth!
