Genius
Simple yet effective, if you like Office Space, you'll like this.

Basically it's a comedy, it's stupid, it's random, it's funny, and it does it very well. The storyline picks up eventually, but the funniest part of the film is the stupid tricks the cops play on the public and each other. I really could imagine people doing things like this if they were that bored, which is where most of the humour comes into it. A great film to see if your looking for a laugh, and dont be too harsh on it, just enjoy it for what it is

Much funnier than I expected
Having seen the lamentable Dukes Of Hazzard while this was in the post I expected this to be awful, but it is actually very funny.

Kind of like a National Lampoon film when they were still funny (Animal House and the first two Vacations) this really hits the mark of juvenile humour that is still funny due to endearing characters. The proceedings are lent an air of quality by the presence of Brian Cox.

The DVD is also good quality. Two commentaries and about 20 minutes of deleted scenes accompany the usual behind the scenes stuff.

Worth your time. Rent this instead of watching Dukes of Hazzard. (Never watch Dukes of Hazzard!)

Super Troopers

There's plenty to admire about Super Troopers. It was made for just $3 million; the movie's creators used novel methods to promote the film (including putting the first 10 truly hilarious minutes on the net). They even persuaded the highly regarded Brian Cox (Manhunter, Rushmore) to co-star.

Would that the completed film was as impressive as the troupe's chutzpah. Super Troopers' problems stem from the cast and crew's lack of film experience; the comedians are theatre rather than movie performers, and you get the impression that director Jay Chandrasekhar would have difficulty videoing a family barbecue. And a predictable plot doesn't help matters: Super Troope...
