Southland Tales is an ensemble piece set in the futuristic landscape of Los Angeles on July 4, 2008, as it stands on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster. Boxer Santaros is an action star who's stricken with amnesia. From this trailer this film looks very intersting. What puzzles me though about the reviewer giving it 5 stars and having watched it on DVD...... Its Nov 2007 and the film is not in cinemas till 7th Dec 2007 so how did they see it on DVD ?
Its not available on Amazon.com and DVDBoxoffice dont have it either ? Shady!

this movie was awesome. Richard kelly is almost as badass as Phillip Seymore Hoffman.. So many people in this movie its rediculous.. watch it for yourself..
This movie was Amazing! It was a little hard to follow but the story was incredible! This has the makings of a classic! Southland Tales is not for everyone, but if your a fan of movies that require thought, 100% of your attention, and you aren't afraid of a little sexual innuendo, then this is a must see....Watch it with an open mind and open eyes. It is amazing! 9/10 They should have set the date for 2012 instead of 2008>
The guy who directed this film, also directed a film called Donnie Darko. Now Donnie Darko was the ---. A little confusing at first but once you watch it a few times, you catch onto the story line and realize how simple and non confusing that film really is. Southland Tales however, I guess I'm gonna have to watch again because the movie made very, very little sense to me. What happened Richard Kelly? What happened?
it was alright. may b a good way to think of how ww3 can start. it has a great cast. in my opinion, pay close attention to the movie. cause if u miss a few seconds, u could get lost..3/5
perhaps too many different things and genres being mixed together in a bad script. I liked the beginning time and date I liked the new energy source concept.
this movie is unbelievable.. its hard to understand but the quote says it all "pimps dont commit suicide" its a blown out of proportion look at what terrorism can do to a society. a seriouse mind f!@K. i swear ive imagined this entire movie on a salvia trip. i suppose the author did too lol 9/10
this movie is crazy. it has so many different themes in it that it makes your head want to explode. but i loved every minute of it. my favorite part was [SPOILER]
when the newlywed couple was arguing, that was like the funniest fight ever. then jon lovitz comes in like a psycho cop and murders them both, man crazy movie.
Total waste of time. I tried to stick it out, follow it to the utmost..got totally bored with it. There are TONS of other good movies out there,,use your spare time on those, not this.
