Turkish and his close friend/accomplice Tommy get pulled into the world of match fixing by the notorious Brick Top. Things get complicated when the boxer they had lined up gets the shit kicked out of him by Pitt, a 'pikey' ( slang for an Irish Gypsy)- who comes into the equation after Turkish, an unlicensed boxing promoter wants to buy a caravan off the Irish Gypsies. They then try to convince Pitt not only to fight for them, but to lose for them too. Whilst all this is going on, a huge diamond heist takes place, and a fistful of motley characters enter the story, including 'Cousin Avi', 'Bor... is The Blade', 'Franky Four Fingers' and 'Bullet Tooth Tony'. Snatch is the fantastic follow up from director Guy Ritchie, he of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels fame. While Lock Stock was awesome, Snatch is even better. Ritchie obviously has a bigger budget second time round, and also pulls in bigger names, and this all adds to a brilliant film. Plot-wise, it's complex, with several groups of misfits all after one thing - a HUGE diamond. In one group we have Turkish and Tommy (Jason Statham and Stephen Graham), unlicensed boxing promoters who enlist the fighting skills of a brick hard gypsy named Mickey (Brad Pitt). Their problems begin when they get involved with a nasty piece of work gangster named Brick-Top (the brilliant Alan Ford), who has ...
Snatch. It's heists, bareknuckle boxers, scary gangsters and the familiar bumbling London petty criminals in the second offering from the man who is to blame for kicking off the 90s lad mag crime caper
Guy Ritchie's Snatch is to his smash East End crime debut Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels what Robert Rodriguez's Desperado was to his own first effort, El Mariachi. In other words, a slick reworking of the same ideas, with a heftier budget and Hollywood star to boot.
With Lock, Stock... numerous two-dimensional mockneys double-crossed each other for the sake of two antique shot-guns; in Snatch, it's a diamond, smuggled into London...

With Lock, Stock... numerous two-dimensional mockneys double-crossed each other for the sake of two antique shot-guns; in Snatch, it's a diamond, smuggled into London by Frankie Four-Fingers (Del Toro). And like its predecessor, Snatch's plot mechanics are initiated when its antihero (in this case Statham's boxing promoter, Turkish) finds himself in debt to a local ganglord (played by Ford, with wonderf...

Ritchie movies usually annoy me but I like this one. It's funny, fast paced and exciting. I didn't like Statham or Pitt in it, but there was some inspired casting elsewhere to make up for it. Ritchie's best I think.
8/10 great film but the only thing it beats lock stock in is hollywood names .. unless you really want to watch this watch lock stock instead (though this is still worth watching for sure lock stock is just better)
I really enjoyed this movie. Great acting, very entertaining and always keeps you glued to the screen. Not enough violence for me so it's lost a point, but still very well done. 4/5
This film takes its name from a british slang word for female genitals. It also illustrates the average life style of most british men its a really good documentry with some good action shots through out the film they used under cover cameras but don't let this put you off the director was a wizzard who used magic and dragons to help him film the movie. Unfortunately the director lost his wizzard powers dew to a breach in his wizzard contract so no longer can he sumon the dead.
