Sgt. BilkoHaving spent most of the 1990s trying to escape from his old 'wild and crazy' screen persona, what possessed Martin to mark his return to slapstick comedy with this pathetic rehash of the beloved 1950s sitcom? Aside from the sheer insanity of trying to leap into the shoes of the irreplaceable Phil Silvers, surely Martin should have recognized that the film had no script, no gags and no discernible point. Despite a plot which revolves around the testing of a revolutionary hi-tech hover-tank, the sole amusing moment involves the decidedly low-tech combination of a horse and an overhead winch.
