Scott Pilgrim vs. the WorldNot your typical comic book hero, Scott Pilgrim was created by Canadian Bryan Lee O'Malley, who was nominated for Eisner awards (the comic-book Oscars). The books involve the titular Scott, an early twenties Canadian slacker/rocker whose life becomes somewhat more dynamic when he falls for a girl but can only win her over by defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends.
After his typically British collaborations with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz), director Edgar Wright goes west to team up with a slew of North American talent. The film takes its name from the second of O'Malley's books, and stars amiable everyman-du-jour Michael Cera (Superbad, Juno) as Scott. Among Scott's foes are Jason Schwartzman and the incumbent Superman Brandon Routh.
