Same Time, Next YearAnother of those faux sophisticated sex comedies (A Touch of Class, A Change of Seasons and Avanti!, to name but three) that proliferated in the 70s. Alda and Burstyn play a pair of adulterous lovers who conduct a 25-year affair in which they meet once a year at the same hotel where they first met, to indulge in a weekend of passion before returning to their respective spouses. Based on the stage play by Slade (and boy does it show), the dialogue has its share of snappy lines, but still comes across as nothing more than Neil Simon lite.
