Rookie, TheEastwood is the hard, wizened old cop lumbered with nutty trust fund new boy Sheen as his partner. They have to chase down baddies Julia and Braga, who are German for no apparent reason. Things do not get much more formula than this, but even in this kind of fodder one might expect a few cheap thrills. The Rookie provides none; it is so by-numbers that it is boring. The fact that it is the worst film Eastwood's been involved in says something. The fact that it is Sheen's worst film... well, that gives a better impression of how low we've gone here, people. |
