Pills and heroin offer fulfillment of the dreams of four residents of Brooklyn's Brighton Beach in the shadow of a crumbling Coney Island amusement park. Sara dreams of appearing on television wearing a red dress that's a bit snug. So she starts a diet assisted by uppers. Her son Harry, his girlfriend Marion, and his best friend Tyrone pin their hopes for money on moving up from pushing nickel bags of heroin to buying in bulk. They also deal to support their growing habits. Things are going well: Harry buys his mom a new TV, she's losing weight, she has status among her friends, Tyrone's girl... friend is cool, and the team has money in a shoe box. These dreams are addictive.

Pyschological Warning!
This is my favourite film of all time. A truly excellent film should touch you, make a difference to your day, and have a long lasting effect on you. The incredible impact of Requiem does not lessen with each viewing, each and every time it is an emotional rollercoaster, with SO many 'heart in your mouth' moments! You'll smile with contentment, jump with fear, cry in dismay, and go pure crazy with shock! I've never shown this film to anyone who did not sit there in disbelief and amazement after it's intensely traumatic ending.

This movie is not for the faint of heart and tells a gripping story of the life of drugs and how it infiltrates society. The acting is excellent and Jared Leto does a fine job throughout the film.
Although the camera shots were so so and most of them unnecessary, the story- that is the SCRIPT is what carries this film. Well written! I found myself wanting to see it all the way through and for that coupled with great acting gets this film 4/5.
I've seen this one several times even though it has been a while. I've noticed that a lot of people still like this movie and I thought maybe if I watched it again I would recognize what it is about the movie that everyone likes. Well, I still can't really find the appeal. It's a depressing movie about hopeless people. If you're in the mood to wallow in pity, I would recommend it. 3/5 for acting.
First off , The title of this " ARTISTIC CREATION " Could not be ameliorated ! Both words of this title literally allow you to expect what your going to watch , and the Medium of Investiture by the producers Is " Drug Addiction " ! It's a story of Hopes , Dreams and expectations from the Individual addicts perspective as drug Induced Paranoid Schizophrenia and the conclusive realization of failure close the curtain . There Is no ending here! It's more of a sociological study , and It's EXTREMELY well done ! A majority of the population will not enjoy this , but If your In the least Involved or Interested In the simple social machinations of the everyday mind , that has found a crutch , Check It out , ! It leaves a bad taste In my mouth , although I enjoyed It thoroughly ! This could be anyone ! THIS IS 5 STAR !
