This is the blackest of comedies, and one which sticks two fingers up at the middle classes of America in all their dysfunctional glory. Comedian Leary's first starring role is as the armed nutter forced to take a bickering family hostage when a heist goes wrong. Leary's acerbic tongue is perfectly matched by Spacey and Davis as the superbly nasty couple and also by Johns as the demented mother-in-law.
