A riveting action-thriller, Push burrows deep into the deadly world of psychic espionage where artificially enhanced paranormal operatives have the ability to move objects with their minds, see the future, create new realities and kill without ever touching their victims. Against this setting, a young man and a teenage girl take on a clandestine agency in a race against time that will determine the future of civilization.
Push, a supernatural action thriller, is jangly, jarring and violent. But more disconcerting is watching the sweet-faced Dakota Fanning swear, get drunk and pack heat - in both fists, no less.
Fanning plays a 13-year-old clairvoyant, part of a special class of paranormals whose origins go back to government experiments from 1945. The plan was to use them as surveillance weapons. But the children of these original human weapons aren't so willing to comply.
They live among us, the narration says, and they look like us, but they have special powers like telekinesis and telepathy. Then there are some whose skills are truly creepy, like the family that c...
Push has no pull. A confused jumble of parts in search of a whole, the film plays like a mix-tape sample of scenes from "Heroes," "Fringe," "Alias" and "The X-Files" as it follows good guys gifted with paranormal powers trying to stave off bad guys with the same powers to create a U.S. super army. Director Paul McGuigan muscularly uses David Bourla's impenetrable screenplay to turn Hong Kong into his own plaything, with enough energy to power solid worldwide opening week numbers and plenty left over for vid futures.
A prologue set 10 years ago delves into the fate of a "mover," young Nick Gant (Chris Evans) -- one of several types of people who were gu...
The painfully inscrutable paranormal thriller Push introduces us to a host of characters with various gifts -- some can see the future, some can heal, some can plant ideas, some can make change for a dollar. By the time the credits roll, your most fervent wish is to run into a "wiper" (one who can erase memories).
In an opening-credits prologue, we learn that the U.S. government is continuing to perform psychic experiments started by the Nazis in order to create some kind of super-freaky-powerful army -- or something. Like a lot of things in David Bourla's script, it's left unclear, as are the rules of engagement after the philanthropic-minded telepat...

had the idea, just not the story. if it had a different story it would have been solid. i prefer watching "jumper" over this. worth a one time watch ONLY. 2 of 4 stars average.
Ok this is my second time seeing this movie first time in cinemas approximetaly a year ago in February the week it came out. That time by the trailer I really got hooked and for the second time around its just as good all the same love the idea the plot the characters actors. [SPOILER]
Great Cliffhanger for Push 2 (f they'll ever gonna make it)
Well all in all a great Sci Fi thriller to lay back on the couch with for sure, (Seems like Dakota is not that annoying little girl anymore) LOL loved it Evans Dakota Belle and Hounsou all portrayed their characters brilliantly cant wait for number 2
Good film was slightly confused by a lack of an ending, so much you still want to know. The main guy was a rubbish mover he ran in with a gun more often then his power!!
There's not much to say about this movie. it was just like blah ok. It took a while to get into and even when I did it still didn't grab me. I only watched it because Dakota was in it. This was the first time I felt she was lacking something.
I was a little disappointed in Fanning's performance in this one. She picks it up near the end, but I was hard pressed to accept her character. I could have been in the writing, and I don't see anyone else doing better, but, meh. Everything else was great. Good action, interesting take on the whole psychic powers thing, but I'm sort of confused on whether normal people don't know about the people with powers, or what. Because with all the property damage, I'm not sure how well it could be kept a secret. But, that's not what matters, ultimately anyway. It's about kickin' ass and takin' names with psychic abilities, and this movie delivers that.
Would not say its bad but not great either.. It was entertaining to watch lot of BS in this movie.. But the story was good, had a lot of good twists.. Not a movie I would pay to watch but it passed the time.. 3/5
This wasn't great but not bad. I thought it had good action sequences but the plot drug on and on and on. I really like Chris Evans and I hope he'll pick better roles. Also, I thought Dakota Fanning done good, probably the best actor on screen, it was also funny to see her [SPOILER]
