I have a feeling that this version of the movie was the edited one as scenes I was expecting between Gabriel and Lucifer didn't materialise. Nevertheless, if you like films like Stigmata, which combine strong religious themes with great special effects and cool black leather, then this will appeal. The performances are great, especially from Viggo as Lucifer. A bit of a cult appeal. Great evening's entertainment.
Thinking mans films
Not your usuall Horror/thriller. An excellent film that makes you think very differently about Angels! Well worth hiring this film.

Priest-turned-cop Elias Koteas gets caught up in an earthly battle between renegade angels Christopher Walken and Eric Stoltz in this strangely ambiguous and slightly pretentious horror fantasy from writer/director Gregory Widen, who also co-scripted Highlander. The wildly imaginative premise and poetic development, along with a solid cast that includes Virginia Madsen and Amanda Plummer, make this often compelling, sometimes corny, chiller a bizarre cult item.
