The Brave and the Bold, and the Slightly Stupid
Any comedy film that opens with a couple of suicide bombers arguing over who will get the most virgins in paradise before crashing into the World Trade Centre (no lie) is not going to make friends easily, but I think Uwe Boll could care less.
Yep, its that weird German fella again making another computer game adaption (Postal was a 90's ultra violent game that got the cardigan wearing Daily Mail readers in a strop) and this time he's embracing his numerous bad critics and has made one of the most bizarre and offensive films in recent history. This is like Freddy Got Fingered all over again. The plot is ridiculous and not really the point of the film, but lets just say that it contains the following and you'll know where you stand: Full frontal male nudity, full frontal female nudity, children getting shot numerous times, old people getting shot numerous times, cats used as silencers, fat people screwing, trailer trash, jokes about disabled people, black people, chinese people, white people, germans, nazi's the list could go on. I don't know if I actually liked this film, I definately laughed and was astounded at some of the things that flashed by me on the screen, but it all ended up a bit of a joke. Boll says the film was basically a two finger salute to all his critics and it feels a little too much like a personal vendetta to be enjoyable. That said, you should rent it if only to see a director with bigger balls than just about anyone else working today. Offensive? Yes. Any Good? Errr sort of. |
