Ok, because of all the comments on this movie, I was unsure about to watch it or not, but finally I gave it a try, and I must say I did not like this movie. Let me explain:

Part 1 is 1:30 hours long. Overall, its 30mins of a guy speaking russian (with no subtitles.. at least in stagevu), so.. 30 mins of the movie you're not knowing what's going on. Then there are like 20 mins of torture, which are pretty graphic, and then.. the rest is a mix up of random scenes and real images from that time. All of it with an annoying (and sometimes creepy) music. and.. what's up with the closeups!? half of the movie is a closeup of someone/something, which made it annoying to watch. Overall, the movie as a whole is completely insane (it's like watching a 4 hour long lousy tape of "The Ring" tape, mixed up with torture scenes)

Dont get me wrong, it's really unnerving,terrible and sad to know what people can do to other people just for the sake of whatever it is they're doing it for, it really is, but this movie only uses the UNIT 741 tortures as an excuse to show some violence and blood.

For all of those really interested in the unit 741 story, id recommend:

"UNIT 741: Nightmare in Manchuria" if you're looking for a documentary.

"Men behind the sun" if you're looking for a movie with this plot.

"Hostel" if all you want is the gore

Anyway, I agree with the rest of the people that this movie should be followed with a WARNING sign, but for me, it's a waste of time.
