There's been a lot of agonized hand-wringing about the cost to society of the possible demise of newspapers, but one major negative consequence has been overlooked. What the heck are the movies going to do for careers for intrepid heroines if newspaper reporter is out of the running?
True, Rowena Price (Halle Berry), ace investigative reporter for the mythical New York Courier and protagonist of Perfect Stranger, is not exactly Lois Lane material. She's introduced using false pretenses to entrap a U.S. senator and then record him without his knowledge, activities that will not endear her to the Pulitzer board, but no matter. This was better than I expected. It is a smooth thriller with lots of sex appeal. Hale Berry is just sexy and there is some serious acting going on. The ending was just too abrupt, but overall it is kinda realistic story. I did like the movie very much. Definately worth watching! It really kept me excited throughout!
this was definitely better then i thought it would be. [SPOILER]
the whole time i was waiting for a twist and at the end when Hill was arrested and found guilty i was like what? thats it no twist? and was ready to shut it and off and say this sucks. im glad i didnt because the twist came and i didnt see it coming. i liked Giovanni Ribisi's character, even though he was a bit psycho, he seemed like a good guy he really liked her. (maybe a little too much) but i wish she hadnt killed him. It does make a great ending to the movie tho. All in all i think it was decent. leaves room for them to make a sequel. who knows.
havent seen a twist in a story like this since "Wild Things" like another commenter said "just when you think you know who did it "NOPE youre wrong , must see! 5/5
