Not as a StrangerBased on Morton Thompson's best-seller, Kramer's directorial debut is a worthy and laborious tribute to the medical profession. Nurse de Havilland supports her husband Mitchum through medical school. His driven but selfish attitude causes conflict within the relationship. Mitchum and Sinatra give new meaning to the term 'mature students' and there is a glossy melodrama that sometimes gets out of hand, notably when de Havilland is on screen. Otherwise, it is a well meaning, well acted unremarkable and undemanding drama. |
