Swapping Gotham's Natural History Museum for D.C.'s Smithsonian, this Night at the Museum sequel reunites Ben Stiller's ex-security guard with former cast members and adds dozens more. But where the original had a vaguely tenable narrative hook (deadbeat dad finds redemption through nocturnal heroics), the new pic seems purely a vehicle for lavish visuals and cheap gags. This movie is great fun! Alot better than first, simply because it's packed with so much action and fun: a great movie to see with the whole family. I'm not going to tell you a detailed description of the movie as a previous reviewer has already done that (along with yet another tedious reviewer who felt the need to share his opinion without actually seeing the film!!!Reviews like his should be removed as they are of no value whatsover, as it's silly to review a movie not seen yet!), but I will say this,watch this! If you liked the first/original, I'm sure you'll love this one even more. It certainly didn't disappoint me.....oh yes be prepared for alot of slapping! (s...

Imagine history night at the Improv, only with marble floors and no hecklers: "Hank, you're a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy named Kahmunrah, it's 2009 and you just woke up, go . . . " and you have Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. It's not so much a movie as a series of running antiquity gags, good for a comedy club, not so much for the multiplex.

Ben Stiller is back as Larry Daley, though he's ditched the night guard gig at the Museum of Natural History in New York City despite the very cool gold tablet that hangs in the Egyptian room and actually brings everything to life at night. Now he's become an infomercial king with a fortune made...

I have to say that I LOVE one and two of Night at the Museum. Not only are these movies funny, but they do have a lot of history going on. I want to visit the Smithsonian. Isn't it funny how there isn't EVER anyone on the streets towards the end of the movie? Oh and what happen to Amelia Earhart was a conspiracy. Great family movie though.....5/5.

They wasted time on some gags, that didn't really work and they didn't really flesh out the new characters very well. It seemed that they wanted to put a little more bang into the movie with the special f/x that in turn made the story feel rushed. Even with all that said, it's still a fun and enjoyable movie. Definitely worth watching more than once.

I give it a 3/5
