During the first half of the movie, I didn't know what was more boring, the play the guy was writing, or his life. Here was a man with an accumulation of treasures around him, (e.g., wife, daughter, co-worker, friends, producers and so on), yet so full of nothing.
In his free fall he found himself through this stupid play which nobody wanted and nobody seemed to care. His play was full of question marks leading to nowhere, until he found the North in his emotional compass. Then he found the light and the rest is history. A deep intellectual movie with splendid actors doing their best to keep your mental juices flowing. I gave it high grades. In a couple of months after the dust settles in, I'll see it again. The film has great actors but it tries to much to be offbeat and just feels dry and depressing, the only good part was the gay character with the 70's style get ups, he was really funny and interesting, everything else was not.
