Hey, so this is the Real deal, a True Hollywood classic starring Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur, directed by Frank Capra and released in 1936. OK so it's style is a little dated to modern eyes but it's a great story and the acting is wonderful. I saw this film on TV as a kid and loved it then.. I just re-watched it as I wanted to make sure how much better it was than the tawdry remake with Adam Sandler, "Mr Deeds".

Believe me this original version is so much better there is no comparison. We are spoilt these days with all the colour and special effects at our disposal. Back in the days when people had very little, cinema was important.. these old movies are important as part of our cultural heritage. I don't watch them that often myself these days but you know, when I do I'm so moved and I'm glad I made the effort. This old classic is a real gem.. take a moment and watch something with a bit of class, you'll be glad you did! Classic.
