This was actually the end film of a trilogy which Argento starts decades ago and never finished. Long term nagging managed to get this finally made. It had some unusual and bizarre creatures and witchcraft moments, but it was anticlimactic. Argento seems to be famous for stark gore scenes and specific camera shots, but all due respect his movies have always been somewhat substandard. Most all of the scenes he's famous for are arguably unnecessary and come across as terribly amateurish. The stories are interesting but he could never quite pull them off. With that said, this might be an interesting watch. If you do, you might see the other two first. Susperia and Inferno. Susperia was my favorite of the three which had a strangely haunting soundtrack by Goblin. Incidentally, this is called The Third Mother for a reason.
This is as good as any other cheesy witchcraft movie and with a few interesting moments thrown in.
