Original...and best
The original LW is a classic among the 'buddy' cop genre, and is played much harder than the rather comedic sequels that followed it.
Glover and Gibson are excellent at the mis-matched cops partnered together, who slowly develop great respect and friendship through the traumatic events of the case they are working on. Gary Busey is memorable as the albino villian Mr Joshua, the action set pieces are handled well by Richard Donner (Director) and the soundtrack features work by Eric Clapton amongst others. After this the series went downhill somewhat, although LW2 was saved by the tireless efforts of Patsy Kensit's delicious looking nipples and general all-round shaggability. Superior to its sequels (as is almost always the way with Hollywood) and recommended for a typical 'Pizza n Beer' evening. |
