I really enjoyed this film. Evan Rachel Wood as Miranda, the daughter, was superb..I just love her..she's a wonderful actress for being so young and I think she will be around for a very long time in this buisness. Michael Douglas always delivers in his roles, playing the unstable father, so convincing and he made me laugh out loud through out.

All around great movie to watch 9/10

Really outstanding film..the dedication of a parent to his daughter, subtly proving his stability.. I dont believe I have ever saw him take on a role like this before.. It was mildly humorous to me, but it may be hilarious to some viewers.

Definitely haven't seen a movie with a plot quite like this one. Michael Douglas was disturbingly convincing in his role, lol. The woman who played his daughter also did a great job. Ending was kind of sad, but the movie was funny and well worth a watch. 3.5/5

Well, I didn't get this movie at all. I have no idea what the purpose was and nor did I understand the end. What happened to the bipolar dad (Michael Douglas) at the end, and what's got that to do with California?? This must be his worst movie ever..didn't find the movie funny either..this is black comedy, but just a light hearted movie..it gives a sense of feel good factor..and is somewhat peaceful cause of its dialogues..no idea why he took on the role, but i would like to know..very likely I just didn't get it at all.
