KeomaReturning home from the Civil War, Keoma Shannon (Nero) aims to avenge himself on his three violent brothers. On the way, he stops the murder of a pregnant woman (Karlatos) suspected of carrying the plague virus. Against the town's demands, he buys her a room at the hotel and returns to his mission.
A chance meeting with the family's former servant, George (Strode) informs Keoma that the town is now run by the evil Caldwell (O'Brien), with his brothers angling to form a partnership him. The brothers try to run him out of town but Keoma sees them off and ruins their ambitions for power and glory. Thinking he is victorious, Keoma plans his future. But after hearing that the woman has been evicted and interned in a plague camp he decides to make a final showdown ...
This button-pushing Spaghetti Western has high hopes, pasting together Biblical allegory and Freudian theory amid the blood and bullets. Nero's charm is seemingly endless and he carries the movie with swaggering heroism of the kind rarely seen outside a Hong Kong kung fu double bill.
