Meg Ryan is truly charming
This film is suprisingly good, but it does have to be said that the undoubted star of it is Meg Ryan, she puts in such a charming performance, when the other cast members seem slightly out of their dephts she relieves them. She adds a modern spin on a other wise preety ordinary two dimensional charecter, Haugh Jackmon also puts in above and beyond the call of duty, the two leads obviously have chemistry and the script enables them to be playful with their parts. The actual idea behind the film is preety ludicrous, a weird science guy finds a rip in time and goes back thousands of years but dosn't realise hes brought somebody back with him. Also the story is predictable, but not in a bad way, more in a homely safe way, at it's hard its a love story, but there is comedy, bits of drama, emotional scenes and tension. The scenery is truly amazing and very glossy, its good to see the old and the new incorporated nicely. Critics probably wouldnt like this film because it is just fluff, but its glossy well acted fluff ( and isnt it good to watch a bit of fluff now and again anyway?)This movie will apeal to most people.
