Con artists and struggling actors Tucci and Platt, after insulting stage star Molina, find themselves as stowaways on a cruise ship, among whose passengers is the same Molina. For the rest of the voyage, they are forced into a series of impersonations - from crew members to wealthy passengers to women - to elude detection.

Actor Stanley Tucci followed his critically acclaimed directorial debut, Big Night, with this farcical comedy (originally titled Ship of Fools), in which he and the under-rated Oliver Platt star as two out-of-work actors in the Depression who stow away on a luxury liner populated with eccentric passengers. A spoof on classics like Grand Hotel, the film features some rather old-fashioned slapstick, which often works well thanks to the timing skills of the eclectic cast.
