Despite the obvious CG, this movie is really great. Kinda has an independent feel and flow which i like. Great visuals and costumes and makeup and a storyline that's just weird enough.

If you like 5th Element you'll probably like this. It's one of my favorites.

4/5 for me. I thought it was this crazy weird movie that I saw with no sound at a tattoo parlor but after watching the full movie with volume it was a really decent film. the cgi could have definitely been better but aside from that it was great. id recommend seeing it at least once.

classic in a sense as this one definitely hits the mark for those who would like something different. Futuristic: who would think that Egyptian deities would have more modern ways of punishing their own kind? I like the kid though at the ending - takes on after horus.

Pretty cool retrofuturism. Live footage with computer animation as in"Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Charolette Rampling, Linda Hardy,Thomas Kretshman. Very subjective, surreal, introspective. Echoes of "Blade Runner".

I wanted to enjoy this more- It was beautiful to look at, I think the cgi was quite good in comparison to so much of what's out there. But I needed more.I agree with the one who wrote that the dialogue was very poorly written, and the story could have been fleshed out a bit more, too vague for my liking, I felt a bit lost. I might watch it again at some point in the future to see if I can piece it together better. I'd give it a 7 of 10

apprently theres an argument about which was done first regarding CGI this or 'sin city' or another film.

I didnt think much of Sin City and after watching all of this i didnt think much of this either .. if arty films are meant to be a bit wierd then i guess this could be considered arty .. not my cup of tea at all

but it was slightly captivating even though it was sort of lacking

5/10 for me but will mark as a 4/10 2/5 as its not worth a 6 .. but im sure some people will absolutly love this film .. i guess its one of those marmite things

*just a heads up - the Youko version is good quality but there are a couple of times when they speak non english in the film (not many but enough to niggle away at the viewer) and as its a non english site theres no enlish subtitles for those bits

French movie Sci-Fi placing Egyptian Gods in a futuristic setting. This movie is visually gorgeous. The typical movie-goer expecting a written-by-numbers, Hollywood formulaic story might be quite puzzled. The story here takes you by surprise and has sometimes the logic or lack-of-logic of a dream. Just let it carry you.

Immortel was created and directed by Enki Bilal famed French author of comic strips like look and feel like this movie does.

A unique experience. Don't miss it if you're a science-fiction fan.

A fantastic French sci-fi movie, visually stunning and wonderfully thought provoking. This film is unique, however, if you liked Bladerunner, Ghost in the Shell, Sin City and The Fifth Element, then you should enjoy this! 9/10.

I have seen this before, I think it`s a nicely put together film.

It`s alot better, than some of those, Scy-Fy, made for T.V. movies.

Make-up and Costume did a good job and the quality of the film, was above average.

The interaction, by the two different cultures, worked well and the mix of live and animation was a treat. I felt like it was border-line, video-gamish ala Final Fantasy or (like another stated) The 5th Element. 3/5

I was fortunate enough to see this film in the French language (subtitled in English). The Merovingian from 'Matrix Reloaded' said it best:

"It's like wiping your ahss with silk". Absolutely beautiful to 'listen' to.

Other than that, this movie kinda sucked a little bit. Visually, it is stunning. It was an interesting vision of the future where humans live with aliens, mutants, gods and flying cars. They really had a big budget on it too. Top notch CGI (and lower-notch CGI) still couldn't make this one more than just "fun-to-LOOK-at" and listen to in French.

The premise was fascinating, but.. the story is the WORST. Story-lines intersected for NO DAMN reason other than..nothing--the story-lines intersected for NOTHING.

The plot is too convoluted to see where it's going. Very poorly written. The dialogue is rediculous and borders on painful.

I wanted Sigourney Weaver's Aliens to be unleashed in this world and everyone that was too stupid to eat outright would be impregnated with explosive chest-babies. THEN they should ravage the city in an unrelenting manner, biting and pissing acid on everyone else.

Such potential, but absolutely NO guidance. This is NOT science-fiction. There is nothing in here that approaches 'science' at all. No one in the movie knew what the hell was going on (except for John and Horus). Watch it if you don't believe me.

How these lazy-writer-techno-frenchies got so much money for this load of fudge while I'm left to max out my credit cards and gigolo my way to my first film is beyond me..

oh well. The struggle is it's own reward I guess. Maybe I should go to France!

7/10 : (if I turn off my brain with no intention of turning it back on until the end-credits are over)

4/10 : (because I never DO that)
