I.D.It's tempting to compare this undercover cop movie with Cruising, where Pacino gets drawn into the New York City S&M world, just as London cop John (Dinsdale) gets mixed up in the even less attractive world of football hooliganism. He and fellow cop Trevor (Graham) infiltrate a tough pub and join the hard boys in their hard drinking. Gradually young John gets obsessed and becomes one of the gang rather than the hunter. The problem is that the world he inhabits appears, for all the unpleasant violence, unconvincing. One image of the spring 2000 offensive between the Turks and the Brits in Copenhagen tells us more about the fascist mentality of such people that the whole of this movie.
