Sgt. Nicholas Angel is just about the perfect copper: honest, reliable, and dedicated to public duty. The only problem is that he is too good. He arrest record is so good that he is making everyone else look bad so he suddenly finds himself transferred to the picturesque village of Sandford. There he not only finds that the police force is less than ideal, but that there is in fact very little policing to do. The odd drunk and a few lads with a can of spray paint are about all there is to worry about. He becomes friendly with Constable Danny Butterman, who just happens to be the station chief... 's son. Suddenly however, there is a rash of murders that leads him to believe there is a massive conspiracy to keep the village clean and inoffensive.

I've just got home from seeing an advance preview of the 'eagerly awaited film 'Hot Fuzz'. I've been waiting to see this film ever since I first watched 'Shaun of the Dead', and whilst reading a film magazine in the foyer, I read an article saying they would be making the ultimate English action movie next.

I'm not actually a fan of Shaun of the Dead, I just didn't find it that funny, but this really made me laugh and I recommend it to all.
Simon Pegg plays Nicholas Angel, the Met's top Police Officer, the best at everything. Only he's so good that he's making them look bad so they ship him off to the countryside to a little village in the middle of nowhere. He's still doing everything by the book, which means rounding up all the underage drinkers and glaring at hoodies. His sidekick is Danny, obsessed with Bad Boys II and Point Break, he wants to shoot things while jumping through the air. All goes along nicely until the grisly 'accidents' that keep occur...

why would you even compare it to shaun of the dead.. this is a whole differnt type of movie .. just like you dont compare bad boys to night of the living dead.. plus great acting and what a way to end a movie.. and lot of action in th end!
I'M TYPICALLY BRITISH, SO I CAN COMPLETLY UNDERSTAND THE COMEDY. I THINK THESE TWO MAKE A FANTASTIC DOUBLE ACT,AND REALLY OUGHT TO DO MORE ALONG THESE LINES. I THOUGHT THEY'D HAVE A TOUGH JOB OUT DOING SHAWN OF THE DEAD, BUT THEY HAVE FAR SUPPASSED THEMSELVES IN THIS ONE. I'm Canadian and I thought it was hilarious! I only listened as i worked and went to bed before the end but I took the time to watch the whole thing again the next morning. It was worth the time. 4/5
this movie deserves at least an 8. Its mostly a parody on all the cop and buddy movies out there. There is the over the top action, there is the british humor (which is not everyones taste but still..) and the typical bizarre ways of dying.
Absolutely a must watch for anyone who appreciates “ Shaun of the dead “ this will absolutely crack you up its hilarious from start to finish “ Enjoy “
after watching SPACED (tv) and Shaun of the Dead, I HAD to watch this - so glad I did - brilliant and funny and seeing the same actors again was great!
Awesome film - Pegg and Frost are so funny and have a great chemistry. NOTE TO EVERYONE ABOUT TO WATCH THIS: The first and second Megavideo links are absolutely AWFUL quality but the #10 link is perfect quality.
This really was a great movie, full of action comedy and great acting. I liked the flow of it from beginning to end, it even has a black humor goriness that gives it a hint of realism that has you saying, "ouch, that's really gonna leave a scar"
