Jim Davis is an ex-Army Ranger who finds himself slipping back into his old life of petty crime after a job offer from the LAPD evaporates. His best friend is pressured by his girlfriend Sylvia to find a job, but Jim is more interested in hanging out and making cash from small heists, while trying to get a law enforcement job so he can marry his Mexican girlfriend.

Harsh Times starts with a disorienting night battle, realised with a night vision green tinge and populated by masked soldiers. It's a nightmare, which wakes Jim Davis (Bale), an ex-Ranger, from his sleep. Jim is visiting his Mexican girlfriend Marta (Trull), but soon returns to his home in LA. His plan is to get a job with the LAPD then marry Marta and get her a residency. Jim is his own worst enemy though - he's volatile, erratic and childish.

Wow I was blown away, this is a film to remember for a long time for sure. Everything about this movie was great, but you really have to give it up to the director David Ayer for awesome directing and Christian Bale for an awesome performance! This movie has a definate WOW factor and it definately grabs you by the seat of your pants for the majority of the movie. Worth the time to watch for sure, a must see!! 10/10, 5 out of 5 *s, and two thumbs way up!!
