Ghost Patrol
Taking a break from his circus stint with the Ringling Brothers, Tim McCoy headlined this sci-fi western for the indie outfit Puritan Pictures. A suspicious run of mail plane crashes over the Shiloh Mountains puts McCoy on the case as an all-action government agent who soon discovers that the mastermind behind the misdemeanours is gangleader Walter Miller, armed with kidnapped scientist Lloyd Ingraham's motor-zapping laser. Like so many good B-heroines, Claudia Dell proves more of a hindrance than a help, but she doesn't distract from the expressionist magnificence of Kenneth Strickfadden's laboratory sets. A curio, but nothing more.
