This was a very hard hitting and well made film however i think it lacked a good plot and story arch. I loved the first half but the ending was a bit disappointing. Its obvious that the film is classic and Kubrick is a genius film maker but i felt the film was too brief. I would recommend ''Saving Private Ryan'' for anyone who wanted to watch a film about war, this just lacked the storyline of other war films. Well worth a watch, maybe only the one time. 4/5

One of the few films to show the truth of what USMC Boot Camp used to be like..as for the VietNam portion the only really messed up thing was the use of modern UH34 helicopters as modified by the British, the ones shown have turbine engines the ones we flew had 9 cylinder radial engines
