Two days before Christmas in rural upstate New York, Ray Eddy???s husband has left her in an impossible situation???not only is he gone, but he has gambled away all of the family???s meager savings. Enjoyable. I found the end, surprising, and refreshing. I also, enjoy accurate portrayals, of real-life struggle, in America. I will see this again, but on DVD.
Yea, its a one-time watch but its nicely done. I really cant say what i want to say without giving some of it away but it really goes to show you how some people are really struggling and end up taking risks just to get by. Its well worth 4/5.
This was the perfect movie for a rainy and cold day.
The tone of the film had that "Fargo" feel. This movie had the desperation mode turned way up.
Good performance by Melissa Leo.
Her portrayal of a woman in a desperate situation grabbed me so much that I was compelled to look up her Filmography to assure myself that she was working and not hard up for money. lol
A valueable lesson on how some people have to live in this country. Give to charity .. you never know when you maybe the one needing the help. Excellant movie !! 5/5
