Fire BirdsTop Gun with helicopters, Wings of the Apache stars Cage as the hot-shot whirlybird pilot who fights South American terrorists in the air. Young is the love interest and Jones the instructor. While Cage as always is very watchable, he seems to know that he is in a pile of trash and is unable to combat a fluffy script with the same efficiency with which he blows baddies out of the sky. While the photography and stunts are spectacular, as helicopter movies go, Blue Thunder was much more fun. Wings of the Apache's lack of inventiveness makes this Cage's worst movie to date.
