Cool film. 'There's nothing there in the dark that isn't there in the light' - I always thought that sentence was ridiculous lol.

Lots of jumps and frights in this one. Though, as always, the setting and the characters' behavior are inexplicable .. this house is so poorly lit even when every light is on, it's no wonder the kid can't sleep. And at every turn, the older brother says, "You wait here [alone in the dark] while I go do [X]." Everybody seems to abandon the poor kid at the drop of a hat. In spite of that, I found this frightening and gripping. The dark things are creepy and monstrous.

I must say .. where has Linda Purl been all these years? She looks better in this film than she did in the 1970s.
