Failure to Launch

Although not nearly as bad as its title, Failure to Launch is an especially slight romantic comedy whose modest charms are derived largely from its supporting players. Conspicuously inspired by magazine articles about a trendy, Oprah-worthy syndrome -- adult children unwilling to leave their parents' homes -- the filmmakers pad the movie's allotted time with over-the-top interludes in pursuit of a screwball tone. Blessed with some crowd-pleasing elements, Launch should enjoy modest appeal among the weekend-date crowd but, to borrow its terminology, it doesn't seem destined to fully achieve liftoff.

Failure to Launch would be more aptly named Failure at Large.

This would-be romantic comedy is neither. The premise is misbegotten, the chemistry non-existent and the dialogue leaden. Did we mention how tediously the plot unfolds?

The billboards that show Sarah Jessica Parker forcing a smile so large she looks like a jack-o'-lantern and pushing a smarmy-looking Matthew McConaughey capture the stilted nature of this dud.

Don't let their spiffy clothes or attempt at a humorous pose fool you. This is not a viable date movie or a guilty-pleasure chick flick. It's not worth checking out even if you are an insomniac and it's airing on late-nigh...

Fails To Launch!!!
Went to see this film as there was absolutely nothoing else on, and I wanted a movie where I didn't have to think much. However this 'movie' if I dare call it that was absolutely awful, it was corny, highly predictable, completely forgettable and plain boring. I was sat in the cinema wishing it to finish, I would rather watch paint dry than suffer this. Please do NOT waste your time or your money on this film, it really does fail to launch.

Hilarious and Matthew McConaughey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Zooey Deschanel, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha & Kathy Bates are all talented, amazing actor/actresses and i enjoyed this movie alot.

Funny, romantic, awsomely good. :D
